7/4/2023 0 Comments Eternal sonata ost track listsThey weren't troll votes either - it's a great tune! As for the biggest surprise, it's sort of amazing that a song from Barkley: Shut Up and Jam Gaiden was able to place rank. It is odd to see so many songs for the visual novel Umineko no Naku Koro Ni, but the music is legitimately excellent, so it's easy to see why it got so many votes. There's a whole lot of affection for Nier, too, which is much more recent than either of those. As expected, there's a lot of Final Fantasy music, though curiously not much love for XII at all. Chrono Trigger had the most single songs nominated. Several Chrono Cross songs placing high should be no surprise - even most of those that hate the game itself profess to loving the soundtrack. There's some interesting observations about this list, of course. We easily could've cut it off at 100 or 200 songs, but that would've defeated the goal to expose more unknown tracks. Everything from 676 downwards is tied with the same number of points. Of course, after a certain point, the number of points ceases to have much meaning for ranking purposes. Few people known of video game music outside of the type of games they typically play - an RPG player may know little of SNK music, or vice versa - so by taking votes we could a greater consensus of what were widely believed to be the "better" tracks for suggested listening. We had two goals: the obvious one was to get an idea of which tracks were the most popular, but the more important one is just to create a huge list of music and hopefully expose more tracks to more people. We picked the top 1000 (plus a few extra) based on the scores and compiled them below. There were over 11,000 points total amongst thousands of songs. Over one hundred people voted over the course of a month across a handful of forums, including here, NeoGAF and Soundtrack Central. They also had to appear in the games themselves - no arranged versions that only appeared on soundtrack albums. For example, there are easily twenty versions of the song Bloody Tears throughout the Castlevania series, but they would all be counted together, regardless of whether the vote was specifically for the original Castlevania II version, or the Dracula X version, or the Judgment version. The other major rule is that, for games with several entries, all votes for an individual song would be counted together. There are a few J-pop anime intros we allowed, and other scattered bits that we let slip through. We were flexible on this rule, though - Jet Set Radio and Rez uses a lot of licensed music, but for the most part, very little of it is known outside the game. This was to avoid the smart asses that would pick licensed tracks and avoid the face-palming type of things you'd see when, say, a Guitar Hero game would win a Best Soundtrack of the Year awards. First off, most licensed music was not allowed. Every standard vote would get one point, every Top 5 vote would get three. They could also elect a "Top 5" of these 100. So, I decided to hold a poll for Western gamers, to determine approximately the same thing.Īnyone amongst various forums were asked to pick up to 100 of their favorite video game tracks. There's also a whole lot about it that is plain unrelateable - easily half of the stuff on the list consists of tracks no one outside the country has ever heard of, and there were only roughly half a dozen tracks from non-Japanese games. A decent, albeit random piece of Okami music as the favorite track of all time? That's weird. Culminating in a list of 700 pieces of music, there's a lot of interesting stuff, yet some of it seemed rather suspect. Sometime in 2010, Japanese board 2ch got together and voted on their favorite video game music tracks of all time. 7/4/2023 0 Comments Stellar bitraser free downloadRead this lab report outlining the risk of data leakage from world’s largest sample of 311 used hard drives, phones & SD cards. In fact, some of the best comedians on arguably the most famous comedy sketch series of this modern era, Saturday Night Live, have been women. (E!, Bravo and NBC are all members of the NBCUniversal family. The women of Saturday Night Liveare a special group of some of the funniest talents to ever appear on TV. A lot of the most influential comedians in the entertainment industry have been women - women like Lucille Ball, Joan Rivers, Whoopi Goldberg, and Phyllis Diller, to name just a few. Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special was a ratings hit, with 23.1 million total viewers overall. He never did it, so they said, 'You should do it.' And I said, 'Oh, that would be disgusting.'" "So I always said you should do somebody in the office that is just really bad innuendo, and then when the person tries to shine you, you explain it, as if they didn't get it. It's like, 'Can I borrow a pencil?' 'Oh, I'll give you a pencil!' And I'm like, 'Jesus! Somebody's horny!'" the actress recalled. "There's somebody that worked at SNL that was always innuendo from nothing. "We're really making her work tonight."Ĭohen also asked Oteri how she came up with the idea for "The Office Skank," a sketch that ran in May 2000 when John Goodman hosted the show. "While we're making you dance like a monkey, we got a lot of tweets just asking you to say, 'Simmer down now,'" Cohen told the star, referring to Nadeen's catchphrase. In the same episode, Oteri also adlibbed in character as Collette, the prescription pill addict. Oteri replied, "Maybe she was just enjoying herself." "I heard." Oteri began before deciding to play coy. "Who got drunkest?" host Andy Cohen asked. Which was more fun: attending the special or the star-studded after-party? "I really enjoyed the show, but the after-party when Prince sang with the B-52s with, I was like, 'Woo!'" Oteri raved. "You know what? He's my all-time favorite," she said. He and Oteri agreed that they were most excited to see Bill Murray during the special. WWHL's other guest, Dylan McDermott, hosted the show in 1999. Given that cast members Bill Hader and Kenan Thompson starred in several sketches, how come Oteri appear on camera? "To be fair, I have to say that I wasn't originally able to go," she explained on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live Monday, "and then just a couple of days ago, I was able to pull it together." While many stars walked the red carpet, including Chris Kattan and Rob Schneider, not all of them reprised their roles during the three-and-a-half-hour event.Ĭheri Oteri, who was a cast member from 1995 to 2000, didn't have the opportunity to bring back her iconic original characters, including Spartan cheerleader Ariana, grouchy neighbor Rita DelVecchio, hyper child Althea McMahonaman, public-access TV personality Mickey "The Dyke," disgruntled employee Nadeen, prescription pill addict Collette Reardon and Morning Latte host Cass Van Rye. Previous SNL cast members, including Eddie Murphy and Adam Sandler, recurring hosts, including Alec Baldwin and Justin Timberlake, and musical guests, including Miley Cyrus and Paul McCartney, appeared on stage in Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center in New York City to celebrate Lorne Michaels' iconic sketch comedy show. It seemed as if everyone who's anyone in Hollywood attended NBC's Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special on Sunday. 7/4/2023 0 Comments Portal 2 turretThey appear to vary in size, from half the size of the player-character to many times larger the majority are all of the same size, but it is never shown how large they are. Sentry Turrets are commonly seen serving as guards in the maintenance areas of the Enrichment Center, and during testing as an obstacle to the Test Subject. I think this is true, because else they wouldn't use "bambina" nor let you search for the portrait.Ĭhell's project makes this even more convincing. The Aperture Sentry Turret has a single red eye/sensor, a sleek appearance, and predominately white color scheme which is common in most Aperture Science technology. Imho, this song amongst other research around a portrait most likely reveals the parents of Chell. " Ché lástima" is " Ché la stimo" here, which turns into a better " for I hold her in esteem".Ciel seems to be used in a fun context, but in English only Chell would fit.bambina is a female child, in English you can drop this as it's clear from context.Attempts have been made by the author to translate non-literal but still with the same meaning. Here is another interpretation which looks quite correct to me, it really feels like a song. "bambina" actually means "pre-adolescent girl" I'm not aware of an English equivalent.Īlternative readings of those lines of first stanza most people seem to disagree on:Ĭhè la stima, for it holds her in esteem,Ĭhè la stimo, for I hold her in esteem,Ĭhe la stimo, for I hold her in esteem,.However, it is probably incorrect, since the rest of the song is in Italian. "que lastima" is the transcription I can make the best sense of, based on Dave McClelland suggestion.Notes on my bad transcription and translation: Words I'm unsure about are in italicĬara, bel, cara mia, Dear, beautiful, my dear, However, even being an Italian myself, I'm having a very hard time transcribing it. He requested that I use my legit voice (operatic sound) on some of the takes. Maybe we will never know for sure what are the the correct, "official" lyrics, but we know they are Italian (or something that resembles Italian), and also that some unofficial translations got pretty close.ĮDIT: I just noticed that Keaanu had posted a comment linking to Ellen McLain answering questions from Reddit:ĥ.Q) “What is the story behind the Turret opera song? Was this something you wanted to do with your opera background?”ĥ.A) The composer, Mike Morasky was the driving force behind the Turret Opera. So, hence, this is the goodbye to Chell." On the Internet, the translations are close or not so close, but none of them have been absolutely correct.īut it was, because Mike Morasky told me in the recording session, he said: "This is the goodbye. So I made up words in my very bad high-school Italian, because I studied Italian when I was in the high school.Īnd I have to say that Mike and I have decided that we are not going to divulge exactly what I said, because we love all the creativity. You know, different consonants and different vowel combinations.Īnd then Mike said: "Well, can you just make up some words?" And I said: "Sure!" When we were in the studio, I did all of the recording in a lot of different syllables. This genomic innovation resulted in resistance against phylogenetically distinct fungal pathogens spanning the ~300 million-year-old ascomycete/basidiomycete divide. However, the fusion events that gave rise to these genes, far from being rare and isolated, happened many times between different classes of kinases and spawned diverse combinations 10, 12. These kinase fusion protein-encoding resistance genes appear to be unique to the Triticeae, the clade of grasses that arose 12 million years ago and encompasses the cereals wheat, rye ( Secale cereale) and barley ( Hordeum vulgare) 23. Other resistance genes offer some variation to this architecture with protein kinases fused to a steroidogenic acute regulatory protein-related lipid transfer domain ( Yr36) 16, a C2 domain and a multitransmembrane region ( Pm4) 17, a major sperm protein ( Snn3) 18, an NLR ( Tsn1, Rpg5 and Sm1) 19, 20, 21 and a von Willebrand factor type A domain ( Lr9) 22. These tandem kinase genes include Rpg1, Yr15, Sr60, Sr62, Pm24, WTK4 and Rwt4 (refs. A new group of resistance genes has recently come to light, whose members encode two protein kinases fused as one protein. Most of the ~291 plant disease resistance genes cloned to date encode either intracellular receptors of the nucleotide-binding and leucine-rich repeat (NLR) class or extracellular membrane-anchored receptor-like proteins (RLPs, called RLKs when they contain an intracellular kinase) (Supplementary Table 1) 1, 8. Cloning individual resistance genes would enable their introduction as genetically modified polygene stacks, which are likely to provide more durable resistance 7. Moreover, single resistance genes tend to be rapidly overcome by the emergence of resistance-breaking pathogen strains 6. However, the deployment of these interspecific resistance genes is often hampered by linkage drag, that is, the cointroduction of deleterious alleles from linked genes. Notably, more than 200 of the 467 currently designated resistance genes in cultivated bread wheat have their origin outside the bread wheat gene pool 1. For over 100 years, breeders have conducted numerous crosses to enrich the wheat gene pool with resistance genes. The deployment of genetic variation for disease resistance is a sustainable and environmentally friendly way to protect wheat crops 5. Worldwide, ~20% of projected bread wheat ( Triticum aestivum) production is lost to pests and diseases every year 4. The wheat stem rust resistance gene Sr43 encodes an unusual protein kinase 7/4/2023 0 Comments Modern madcap experimentCommon inclusions are: Repeal, Unsubstantiate, Echoing Truth and Wipe Away. All design tweaks we had discussed for future batches were ergonomic and hardware upgrades, and not going backward. At the time of the visit I was told they build in batches of 5 then the next batch of 5 will see any tweaks and so on. I was at their shop a couple of months back and both models are quality products. SO510 wound up being a good fit for me as I did not want an inside bathroom, wanted a bed and dinette inside that did not require converting one into the other, and prefer to keep my kitchen outside. Any orders taken are likely in the July or later timeframe now. I'm not sure if they have moved into their bigger shop yet. Might be that there is not a lot of marketing due to limited capacity at this time as well. I believe the guys are Overkill are pretty busy with their contract to make trailers for a rental company and the total number of customer built ones for 2021are somewhat low since they are a small crew. In this low $40s price point, I think the Purpose is currently the best bang for your buck, though with all the caveats that go along with a startup that hasn't actually delivered a product yet. We're definitely taking a risk on a company that hasn't yet actually produced any trailers beyond a prototype, but Travis and Elisabeth have spent a ton of time showing that they're very invested in their customers - we did two Zoom calls with them that went multiple hours, and have probably spent another few hours trading emails over the last few months - and they re-designed part of the interior based on some feedback we gave them. I went back and forth between the Overkill SO510 and the RKS Purpose, and eventually pulled the trigger on the Purpose once they introduced their Ambassador Program, which provided a large enough early-adopter discount to basically even out the pricing between the two. I will note that if you're expecting to spend roughly $40K after optioning out your Overkill, you may also want to look at a startup out of Southern California called RKS Off-Road. If you really can't get ahold of anyone there, I could always send JP a text and ask what the best way for a new customer to reach them would be. So if you really want one (and they do look awesome), I'd keep trying. My read from spending an hour or so at their shop and trading emails/phone calls with JP is that they're probably more focused on building the trailers they've already sold than trying to sell more new ones, and that their strength is in design and functionality more than marketing and customer service. A couple of months ago, their lead time was something like March/April, so at this point, I'm guessing you probably wouldn't get one until the middle of next summer. I will note that they're also currently re-designing significant parts of the SO510 - the galley is switching out some of the Zarges boxes for actual cabinets, and they're building a pop-top into the roof so people can opt for a second enclosed bed space instead of an RTT - and I've noticed they took down their website, with a placeholder that says a new one is "coming soon", so it's possible that they might not be taking orders right now until they can get mock-ups of the new design up for everyone to see. I think you'll have to be fairly patient with them, as they're swamped with work right now. I definitely got the sense that they're a small crew with a lot on their plate, though, so they don't always prioritize answering emails/phone calls. I sent JP a few follow-up emails, and while it took him a few days to respond since they were traveling, he did get back to me and answer my questions as best as he could over the phone. They let me pick their brains for about an hour, and I left fairly certain I was going to buy one. They made time for me that day, as they were heading out on a trip the next morning, and I saw them working on a couple trailers that they were taking down to California for delivery. I also really liked the design and it's clearly a well built product, so I reached out to JP (their sales guy) and asked if I could swing by to take a look at one in person and ask some questions. I got pretty close to pulling the trigger on an Overkill SO510 about two months ago. I live in Bend, about 10 minutes from their warehouse. Take Cover the Captain orders the crew protect themselves from incoming siege weapon fire, magical attacks, or to brace for the impact of a ram etc. This is basically an Aid Another, a good default for when the other actions don't apply. With a successful DC10 Profession (sailor) check you grant the Pilot a +2 on Profession (sailor) checks to pilot the ship. Look Alive the Captain drives the crew to pay close attention to their jobs making the ship sail smoothly and well. This changes the ship's speed by its acceleration up or down a step not exceeding maximum speed. In my game this has ended up being the Captain.įull Ahead/Heave To the Captain is in charge of determining the speed of the vessel by ordering the crew to lay on more sail or draw the sails in. Imagine them standing in the bow or on the sterncastle with a spyglass. This role is for someone on the deck of the ship shouting orders to the crew, relaying info from the lookout to the pilot and so on. Success allows them one of the following effects:Įnemy Pilot is -4 on Profession (Sailor) checks for a roundĮnemy Ship is -4 on AC and saves for a roundĮnemy Siege Gunners are -4 on attacks for a roundĪlternatively the Bosun, First Mate, or Sailmaster. Make Way The pilot makes an opposed Profession (sailor) check against the other pilots in the combats. For each 5 that the pilot beats her opponents she may increase this bonus by +2. A success grants the ship a +4 to its AC and saves for the next round, but a -8 to the Master at Arms for any siege weapon attacks. When the ship is just moving straight forward the pilot may do these other actions.Įvasive Maneuvers The pilot makes an opposed Profession (Sailor) check against the other pilots in the combat. This will be the action pilots will need to take every round they want to do anything but move the ship straight forward. Make a Profession (sailor) check DC10 with the following difficulty modifiers:įor example a pilot on a ship moving twice it's acceleration trying to execute a 90degree turn to Port would need to succeed on a DC20 Profession (sailor) check. Tack or Jibe (Wearing Ship) The pilot turns the ship or moves diagonally forward on the battlemat. The pilot should be the PC with the highest Profession (Sailor). The pilot rolls against all other pilots in the combat to determine who has the Upper Hand each round. Much as in the basic rules, the pilot's initiative determines when that ship acts. It's meant to be a fun and fast minigame involving everyone. I recognize these may not be super historical or accurate from a simulationist perspective. To address these complaints I've divided Naval Combat into 4 roles to be filled by party members, each with a few possible actions. Something that resolves in 5ish rounds and where people don't have to deliberate overlong on actions. I want a system that is fast-paced enough to feel like an action sequence in a move. I'd like crew quality and involvement to be a factor, but without being overly complicated. They do pitiful damage, easily surpassed by a level 4-5 caster and require a ton of feats to be useable. #2 - Siege Weapons are just not satisfying. Ideally, I want a system that gives every player something to do every round, so you don't have to just rush past the ship stuff in order to keep people awake. The pilot has a lot to do, but the other players just get to sit and wait for boarding to begin. #1 - It gives almost all the control to a single player. But I have some problems with the ruleset too. To me it just isn't a Pirate campaign without yelling "Hard to Starboard!" and such once in a while. It seems a number of groups are more or less skipping this rules subset and just going straight to boarding. The ship to ship combat rules in the Skull & Shackles Player's Guide have come under some criticism in these threads. |
